History & Purpose

The Lynnwood Rotary Foundation began operating in 1990 with the purpose of developing an endowment fund that would support charitable efforts long term.

In 2005, new leadership began a multi-year process of rebuilding the Foundation into an organization of substance, capable of enabling the Rotary Club of Lynnwood to make a significant difference in the lives of people living in South Snohomish County.

No stone was left unturned in this process. New bylaws, policies and procedures were developed. Board terms were lengthened and board members were selected for their expertise, commitment to Rotary and the community. Outside financial consultants were hired and the word “Community,” was added to the name to better reflect the purpose of the organization.

Statement of Purpose
